A selection of tools and accessories for Spinners that include hand carders, drop spindles and beautiful hand-forged bronze spinner's hooks.
Made by Leclerc, these solidly constructed carders are shown in the picture to the left. The backs and handles are Maple hardwood and the wires are imbedded in a durable thick leather pad. Two versions are available depending upon the users requirements.
The Regular (right) carders are 6 3/4 x 10 inches in size with leather pads that are 6 1/2 x 9 3/4 inches, are made using #20 gauge wire and are used for normal carding of wool.
The Fine (left) carders are 8 1/2 x 10 inches in size with leather pads that are 8 1/4 x 9 3/4 inches, are made with #26 gauge wire and are used for finer carding as well as to brush woolen blankets, tapestries or rugs.

Shown in the picture to the left, this beautifully balanced low whorl spindle made of Maple hard wood has a whorl with a 4 inch (10 cm) diameter and a 16 inch (40 cm) long shaft. It is finished in a natural colour
